I am fairly sure that we have one lying somewhere in the garage.  Used it a couple of times and decided we were better off without using it.

Our last day on the trail beckoned with two different views on the weather for the upcoming day…     Apart from the copious amounts of food and wine we have consumed on our trip, we having been making a significant contribution to the local economy through our frequent visits to local petrol stations, the 4.0 older Wranglers with sub 20mpg have very much been leading the charge on this front…     The last day was a mix of faster tracks and small country roads, but even though we spent about half our time on the tarmac the day was not without its challenges, with one particularly tight squeeze…     As we travelled closer to the end of our journey we joined the pilgrim way to Fisterra.  Whilst many pilgrims finish their journey at Santiago de Compostela, the most hardy add on a significant extra leg to Fisterra, with signs along the way to guide them…     We then had a spot of good fortune, who knows, maybe it was Devine intervention as we were on the Pilgrim way.  Our way was blocked on a bridge by a power cable which had dropped into the road…     If the cable hadn’t been there, no doubt we would have driven over the bridge waving to the pilgrims enjoying a picnic by the river and bee on our way.  But once we had stopped we saw an opportunity to Ford the river.  It was at its deepest next to the bridge, but a short run upstream made it easily crossable.  Mike lead the way…     Then it was onward to Fisterra, so called because before the discovery that the world was round the Spanish considered this westerly point to be the ‘end of the earth’.  You can see why…     After a lunch in Fisterra we drove back in land for our stay in Santiago de Compostela, with our Jeeps parked up in the hotel car park we had done it!     The hotel looks a lot better from the front…     With the off-roading finished, what else could we do but head out for a brilliant evening in Santiago with much  great wine, tasty tapas, but most importantly of all great company!     It really has been an amazing adventure!

Yesterday was another good day, as they have all been!  We started out in some tracks that would be more familiar to UK Green Laners, I think the word would be ‘scratchy’…     But we pushed on through with no major incident.  We then started on some tracks which we suspect are quite new and used to service the many wind turbines in the areas.  It has clearly been a bit dry as we had to leave a good distance to the Jeep in front as the dust clouds were a bit of a hazard…     I think we will need a bit of a clean at some point…     On our travels we came across a very interesting vehicle, we presume that it is used to transport the blades for the turbines…     After so many full days Abby and I decided to take a short cut to the hotel after lunch, but the rest of the group continued on with some more memorable trails in amongst the windmills…     As has been the case every night Ignacio’s choice of accommodation was first class.  In this case a tiny hotel with only 11 rooms…     The usually only serve dinner in the hotel on a Friday and Saturday evening, but who can resist a group of Jeepers, so they provided us with a wonderful meal using superb local produce…   Just one more day off-roading left!

Ignacio did a Stella job on the route planning.  I think some of the route would have been a lot more challenging if it was wetter (check out videos of the Transcantabric on YouTube from North4x4), but as you say we have had a nice mix of terrain.

Ask about corrosion on the lip of the bonnet as that is very common issue and we had it on our 2018 GC.  Importantly use a CC to pay deposit and take some on HP for further protection.  I guess it will be a long way to go back if there are issues with the vehicle even if they are minor.
