So the rocker cover and sump are currently relaxing in a nice warm chemical bath to geat all the oil, grease and other crap off. And when they come back, im going to give this stripper a go to get the old paint off. Then its new colour time!!

So. Rocker cover back from the cleaners. All oil and grease is gone. Very pleased. Just need to scrub it clean and try out this paint stripper.

So. Tried out the paint stripper. Love it. Makes the job so easy!! Would recomend to anyone refurbing painted metal.

So anyway. 99% of the old paint is now off. So a quick brush up to clean up the rest and it will be painting time.

This is like waiting for the last episode of a thriller! I can't wait!  I may have to do mine now as it's going to look proper dull compared to yours!

Ok. Rocker cover is done for now. Fress out the oven after curing. Its not perfect but still pretty cool compaired to the old look. I may do it again at a later date, or get it powder coated. But i do love the new colour.

Wow! Looks awesome!  If I'm going to use fancy paint like that on my 4.0 though, I'll need a bigger oven!

Yea it only just fit in the oven. I did panic when i thought i couldnt get the door shut. I think the diffs, calipers and some other bits may get the same treatment.

I think I will need more than that. Exhaust gone check, rear prop gone check, Rear O2 sensor gone check, rear brakes gone check, and oh yeah the damage that prop did on the way out check!

And sorry to crash your thread love what you are doing with your XJ, just a little frustrated at the roadside thinking what shall I do repair or get rid. But then again my XJ has been where many have feared to tread.

Hell's teeth!  Did the rear yoke break and then the propshaft slide off the TC?  Did it end up on the road behind or did you manage to stop the car? Scary stuff!
