maxsaf
Good evening, We are going for a day fishing in derwent water in lake district. Would be a waste of journey unless we check some green lanes around the next day. Appreciate any suggestions for trails around (moderate to difficult with great views) as well as camping spots (the wilder the better!!). thanks in advance!!! max ps has just put the roof tent on so really looking for camping spots we can drive in offroad - if possible.. V
Two campsites I can recommend that I stayed in this summer in the area: Warth Hill: Fantastic views from the top of the hill. Was expecting wild camping but they have very good showers and toilets. Midtown Farm: Absolutely no facilities, wild camping in a field next to the beach. Must prebook by phone or email before arriving. Contact details and What3Words in these QR codes.

VIP Member TimC Posted Wednesday at 19:48 VIP Member Share Posted Wednesday at 19:48 Lanes wise the best one in that part of the Lake District is old coach road from Dockray to St John’s in the Vale and there’s another from St John’s in the vale past the church to Naddle.Old Coach road is not the challenge it used to be since the regrading but still a great route and the St Jon’s in the Vale has a few hairpin climbs which are fun. Campsite wise Seathwaite farm campsite is a good semi wild remote one in a lovely spot https://seathwaitefarmcamping.co.uk/ Post up some pics when you’ve been
