Chrisby
We had a thread similar to this on the forum some years back, with lot of talk about the Jeeps we all have and had currently on other thread I thought it would be good to start this one up again. So for me I have a long history with 4x4's and off road driving before getting onto Jeeps. Here's some images of my Jeeps and other 4x4's and a list of those I have had below 4x Fourtraks ( I loved these trucks) of which my last was OTT modified for off road use (Blue Meany) Range Rover 2 Door , Bobtailed Range Rover classic 2 door (Worth a fortune now, Sold for £2k ) 2 x Shogun Sports TJ Number 1 JKU (Green Meany) WK Grand Cherokee TJ Number 2 TJ Number 3 Renegade (Wifes) Compass (Wifes) The three last pictures are my very first JOC event at the American car show in Billing, then my second event at Bagshot D1 training ground where we also camped overnight at the site and did some night runs and then my third event on the plains . Seem like a lifetime ago!
Platinum Member Simon J Posted March 21, 2023 Platinum Member Share Posted March 21, 2023 The bg bit in 1992 when we bought an ex British Army 1942 Willys Jeep to take both fathers back to Normandy for the 50th anniversary of D-Day. Then along came the 1981 CJ7 Renegade in metallic red. This underwent a full resto and changed to black. It is need of another restoration but that might be some time coming. Then I bought a 1993 4lt Cherokee in black with tan cloth interior. I had this converted to LPG and gave good economical running for 7 years and over 200,000 miles on the clock before being part exchanged for 2001 60th Anniversary Cherokee in Silver. Then along came the 2007 Rescue Green Wrangler JKU. A good strong workhorse acting as tow and recovery vehicle for all kinds of other vehicles including a UHIH Huey helicopter! Next to join the stable a black Project Kahn 2007 Wrangler JK 3.6 V6 Rubicon. Finally, for the moment a Jeep I hankered for years a 1968 Kaiser M715 pickup. Unfortunately I can’t find any photos of the Cherokees but if I do find some I’ll add them. I don’t know what it is but Jeeps just seem to be keepers.

(Check out www.huey.co.uk). In the early days I often went ahead by car to act as ground crew to check out the landing zone. Once on the ground the ground handling wheels were attached and the helicopter then towed to where it was to be displayed. The MB, Cherokee and green JKU have all towed it over the years.
