Richard Tribe
I need to get a new radiator for my 1999 Cherokee XJ and it seems there are a few options available. How do I know which model I should get as a direct replacement to ensure the new one is the correct size and spec? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Richard
V
The engine and steering dictates the radiator. The 2.5L turbo diesel radiator is different to a 4.0L petrol radiator. A 2.5L petrol XJ can use a regular 4.0L radiator. There are a few 4.0L radiator variants for hotter climates, some all brass. For the UK your choices are likely just RHD diesel or RHD petrol model. If it is a pattern radiator, check that your current radiator has or has not got an integrated heat exchanger oil cooler. Make sure your replacement has the same feature if the original has a plumbed in heat exchanger.
