Platinum Member V Posted October 7, 2020 Platinum Member Share Posted October 7, 2020 I bought a new electric winch for my '93 XJ seventeen years ago and I never mounted it. Mainly because I never got around to buying or making a winch bumper for that XJ. I have been thinking recently that maybe I should mount that winch into a portable cradle. That way I could use it both for front and rear recoveries in any vehicle. I saw this Superwinch Winch2Go that gave me another idea for building it into a large tool box or transport case. Has anyone done this with a heavy winch? The Superwinch video shows the Winch2Go being used incorrectly, although I accept that is a matter of opinion. I prefer to keep my winch line stationary and haul the vehicle up the winch rope than drag an expensive synthetic rope through potentially abrasive dirt.
