Platinum Member Iain CDM Posted November 27, 2015 Platinum Member Share Posted November 27, 2015 My 1999 XJ Orvis 4.0 keys take a single CR2032 if that's any help. I've never tried a different combination.
Platinum Member Iain CDM Posted November 27, 2015 Platinum Member Share Posted November 27, 2015 Remote pad that is, not the keys themselves.
Platinum Member Iain CDM Posted November 27, 2015 Platinum Member Share Posted November 27, 2015 In theory, two CR2016 batteries on top of each other should have the same total thickness as a CR2032 (1.6mm plus 1.6mm = 3.2mm) but you would have to add the voltages together. CR 2016 and CR2032 are both 3v, so you would end with 6v. However, if yours is working ok I would leave as is. I don't expect a single CR2032 would cause any damage as it's only 3v, it just might not work very well if at all, but why risk it?
