Matt
Just putting 4 x BFG km3 used up for sale in advance of getting their replacements, if no one is interested I'll leave them at the tyre centre. Probably 25-30k on them - will post some pics and show tread. Going for Yokohama!

Looking for a replacement for my aging 315/70/17 Duratracs myself, have 70,000 on them now and they've been great, still quite a bit of tread left and surprisingly still 'reasonably' quite on the motorway. Would buy again in a heartbeat but no longer made available in that size by Goodyear in GB or across Europe as they didn't sell enough. Nearly bought some Renegade RT's in 35x12.5 17 but left it a bit late and been out of stock for quite a while now.

I just checked and my neighbour's 5.2l twin turbo V12 Aston Martin is compliant as well. Go figure! @Raakhee I presume your old Clio was a diesel? Cut off for compliance for ULEZ for diesels is around 2015 I believe, much earlier than for petrol engines. 17 minutes ago, BLUE STAR said: Are you replacing with an AT or MT If an AT would that be due to road noise ? I did um and ahh a bit on AT's, ideally I'd like an aggressive At - NITTO ridge grappler if you could get in Europe (saw loads on wranglers in california this summer). I think BFG are overpriced and don't really do it for me aesthetically. So I then was looking at a quieter MT - Toyos are out of stock most places in UK and are feckin heavy. Yokohama G003 get good reviews and are a bit different - so I thought I d give them a go. The BFG's have worn well, performed much better than the Cooper STT's they replaced - no complaints

Quite liked the look of the Renegade RT's light cheap but out of stock. Very limited choice compared to the states for the larger diameter tyre which is essential for a lifted Wrangler both for 'aesthetics' & ability. Yep D rated 8ply last I looked, perfect for those not running a 44 front axel. Been nice and quiet on the motorway (not so much now, but still not too bad) noticed little difference in road noise from the stock ones I took off when they wore out. Still feel heavy though when taking them off and on Could probably run a heavier tyre OK, plenty do, as long as I don't 'exercise' the axle too much. The concern I have even on 33s is when I spin the wheels up and then a tyre grabs traction. Even with 33s I think there is enough force there to grenade the ring and pinion. But then I am on a TJ Dana 30, which has a smaller ring and pinion than the JK or JL version I think.
BLUE STAR
I try not to get 'carried away' when I've been to an off road site, as usually I've got quite a drive home. Been a while since I've been to Tong (Jeepey Jamboree) plus the Lanes at Driffield Yorkshire (more like WW1 trench warfare) too much work getting all the mud out of the Wranglers 'orifices'. Did like Wales though, all rocks & water so little cleaning to do after that
Matt
I'm also on a D30 front, with 3.73 gearing. I'm looking at upgrades to ball joints, u joints and CV axle shafts - although been running them with km3's stock since Nov 2019 without any problems either on or off road. This is a moot point both on our forums and in the states, my use is fairly measured - it's no rock crawler!

The KM3's are both smaller (34.5 v 34.7) and heavier (74.4 v 70.8) than the G003's, despite sidewall re-enforcement and squarer profile.https://tiresize.com/tires/Goodyear/Wrangler-DuraTrac-35X12.50R17.htm These Duratracs are 68 - but presumably there's an AT version? The 61lb weight are the 315/70/17 size same tread pattern, slightly smaller dia. 34.4 if memory serves. Been running them on my D30 front for 10 years. My 2007 6 speed manual built Wrangler came with 4.10's from the factory. Edited September 6 by BLUE STAR

Interesting - the 315 size is only 0.4 inch smaller and a little bit wider (0.2), however it is 8 ply and the '35' is 10 ply. 40lb difference on your rig across 5 tyres. Wow they look 'chunky' especially when I compare them to my worn down Duratracs. Once you've ran them for a while post back on your verdict on the road manners, mainly 'road noise' cornering, tire balancing etc. that's where most of the miles will be done, as off road stuff will be OK
