V
I found a security screw under the tyre carrier number plate that prevents the spare wheel from being removed. I assume the Jeep came with a special tool to remove it. Is there a special location for the tool be stored?
VIP Member digger Posted August 25 VIP Member Share Posted August 25 Did you mean like a locking wheel nut? I don't remember anything else. Its along time ago now! Have you checked the pockets behind the seats? I recall one of mine had split inside ,somehow at the bottom and stuff used to go in the seat. I've a tool that removes locking nuts when one has lost the key. Cheap , tool station I think. Easy outs? Hope this helps.
jerryg
It may be a different pattern to the wheel locking nuts. When new mine had two 'keys'. If you don't have the key then a tyre fitting place should be able to remove it, or diy! 1
V
It looks like a different pattern to the wheel lock nuts but I will try it to make sure.

VIP Member digger Posted August 27 VIP Member Share Posted August 27 Hi Jerry, Assuming there are two, is the spare wheel one the same for every car? If so, I hope to do a 'scrappy' trip on Monday(if open) and I might be able to find one for V.

I would guess they are all different as they are a security feature?
