VIP Member Mike WK2 Posted July 13 VIP Member Share Posted July 13 For someone like me that avoids main dealers of any brand due to some historical dramas. Unity Oxford today were a breath of fresh air. Admittedly only a software recall on the transmission so not a major repair. But they were helpful, had a quick courtesy call last night to make sure all was OK for today which was nice. Good little courtesy car, so I could nip off to job whilst in the area, saving me a down day. Got the job done kept me informed during the day. Even adjusted the hand brake ( foot pedal ) without me prompting, just noticed it was needed and got it done. Top notch, great service from start to finish 5
VIP Member Overlander21 Posted July 13 VIP Member Share Posted July 13 It's rare that we hear positive feedback on a main dealer these days. Thanks for sharing @Mike WK2
Surfer
I second Unity as the Jeep tech there has to be the best in the UK. I made a mistake of taking my Jeep to a dealer near to us instead of doing the 140 mile round trip. After they touched the Jeep is was never the same and it had only gone in for a service. Not sure if it was coincidence or not, but within 3 months of then doing the service we had to have major work done on 12 year old Jeep GC with less than 60k on the clock. Never again. Rather drive the extra miles and pay Unity for servicing etc.
John
Do they answer the phone ? the Swindon dealer hasn’t ! Been trying for 5 days 3 times a day …..nothing ! and yes I’ve staggered the times so they can’t all be on the toilet
VIP Member Mike WK2 Posted July 14 Author VIP Member Share Posted July 14 I had the same issue with my local dealership, Unity is 1 hr 40, drive each way for me. But literally no drama from start to finish. They were even phoning me, giving an update before I had thought to phone

Surfer
The only thing that scares me about Unity is the cost of the next service on our Jeep as it is the major service costing about £1000!
BLUE STAR
Just remember £200 of that goes in VAT to the Govt to spend wisely on your behalf Plus with hourly rates at around £100 hour at dealers (as they're money pits to run) there wont be time for a great deal of TLC on your JEEP which older vehicles require at times due to rust etc etc. I can spend hours pulling apart and servicing the rear brakes / adjusting hand brake, on my 2007 built Wrangler cleaning of rust etc, plus there's always something else you notice needs attention when you've got stuff pulled apart, especially if I've left it a while since the last time. Not having a suitable garage & sloping drive its always street side work, so have to wait for suitable weather also.

Fair enough, but excluding oil only 3 components need to be changed i.e. fuel filter, oil filter and air conditioning filter. All the rest is an inspection. The vehicle will be 6 years old and going by current mileage ill have about 50k on the clock so less than the 60k recommended service mileage. However I have confidence in Unity unlike the last Jeep dealer that I used who were a mere 25 miles away. After they touched the vehicle within weeks we had some serious issues costing us megabucks. Not sure if it was just co-incidence or what.
frosty
is there any independent jeep specialist garages near you, they are usually a fraction of the cost, and actually know about jeeps, many jeep dealers have only been jeep dealers for a short time.
