VIP Member Mike WK2 Posted May 21 VIP Member Share Posted May 21 We’ll probably as eco friendly as it will ever get.  Just fitted a 100w solar panel, for charging the Aux battery and power packs when parked up camping for a few days.  m Went it nice and easy mounted under the cross bars, so loose a small amount of potential power input but means the whole rack is still available for carrying capacity.  Barely even notice it from the front, 48w input this afternoon when fitted.

VIP Member Mike WK2 Posted June 26 Author VIP Member Share Posted June 26 I just ran them through the roof rail to the rear tailgate and brought them in through the rear door.  I haven’t made my mind up where the power unit will permanently sit, and I may just keep it random, so have the left the cable as a fly leed tucked into my roof netting above the rear seat. So I can move it around.
Black summit
I have been thinking where to put the power unit also, I might make a wooden frame around the fridge and strap it on top .maybe try and squeeze it where spare wheel is .Do you know if these power units can be mounted on their side or do they have to be level.? VIP Member Mike WK2 Posted June 26 Author VIP Member Share Posted June 26 Have never looked at if they can be mounted side on or not.  My fridge sits permanently on the 5th seat folded down as at max it’s only ever the three of us and the small dog in the car.  I keep toying with the idea of removing the 5th seat all together as it never gets used and then I could mount the power unit under the fridge where seat would be.  Or changing the use of how I currently have things set up for the rear, and it could go under the sliding floor, but that’s currently where my Aux battery and camping gear goes so don’t really want to change that as it works well.
