Chris85
Had our CB sat in its box for about a year as been putting off the install. So, want to get it done this year. Looking at rear mounting on the rear door and then running the coax cabling through the rear door, under the carpet trim and through to the front passenger seat. Couple of questions 1. Has anyone mounted in this way before and if so, any advice for getting under the carpets? 2. I seem to recall someone saying there are Aux connector loom under the glove box to connect for power. Any advice, photos/videos would be greatly appreciated. Cheers,

Yes, mounted on tailgate, through tailgate across load area above wheel arch under carpet ,under rear seat to LHS of centre console, see pics. I didn’t go under the carpet as I have slush mats and the cable runs under that. 2. Don’t know about aux connector for power. I have a 4 way 12v cigar lighter just forward of the hand brake in that bit of netting. I use one for the CB power and another for my iPad. I haven’t gone for a permanently wired one as the whole thing can be lifted out if I want to transfer it into another Jeep. The tailgate mount is Rugged Ridge and is a dual CB and flag mount. It should mount on the othe side of the spare but my ( also Rugged Ridge) HD tailgate hinge won’t fit so it’s reversed from what it should be but still seems to work fine. TBH though I’m not convinced it’s the best place to mount it, would be better mounted higher up if possible. VIP Member Raakhee Posted February 27 VIP Member Share Posted February 27 @Chris85 there are 4 AUX connections behind the glove box. Open glove box, and you can just pop out the entire box by lifting the bottom. Here is a table of the connections. One is a continuous live connection. As to understanding the colour coding, that's subjective. Do however look at it in natural light
