i wouldn't advise a roof mounted light bar if you are expecting to do any serious off roading or green laneing, they will get damaged by trees and undergrowth, especially in places like walters and tong, unless you make them easy to remove. better to mount them on the front bumper, my extra lights are above the front winch, for deep water crossings.

As we have been getting some of the white stuff, can anyone tell me the maximum speed you can go in 4x4 mode ?

I keep getting mixed answers online and my local Jeep dealer couldn't even tell me ???

So this is a newbie to Jeeps question...........

Before I take it to my local garage to check, is the gear stick area supposed to illuminate or have I got a blown fuse or bulb ?

IMG_4189.JPG

Yes, and it’s quite easy to do although fiddly. Finding the bulbs was the bit I struggled with. I think it worked out cheaper to buy 10 than a single.

Todays Question.........

Any recommendations for a half decent (easily fitted) head unit replacement with Apple CarPlay and DAB radio ?

Sorry in advance if I'm supposed to start a new thread every time but I thought it would be easier to keep all my questions together. lol.

@Lee5euk any of the main names will have a unit that fits the bill these days.

I have had Kenwood units in both of mine with no issues. Have seen Alpine units too.

I would go with wireless apple car play now if I was changing mine.

As for DAB, get yourself an aerial splitter/amplifier and use the existing fm aerial. Much better reception than a screen mount DAB aerial.

Check that you can get a mount kit, as the Jeep is a bit wider than a 2 din unit. Also needs a harness

Flipping 'eck Tim, Jeeps in Potton & Gransden (Little or Great?) & me in Grt Barford. 🤞Ernie comes up trumps in January so I can get back into a Wrangler, preferably red of course (or even yellow 😉)

Ahh, Mark Jefferies territory 👍lucky you, getting to watch the displays without leaving your garden.

I'll keep an eye out for you Lee, I still wave Wranglers, even though a Subaru pilot now.

I've been "close" to Mark a few times, as you can see. Email conversation sending my pics over the years of shows.

I'm not sure what the kit is but I do know it

was about £10k and done by Storm Jeeps.

It just struck me, if you contact Storm with details of your Jeep I would have thought they would have some sort of record of the work done.  It would probably be worth knowing what has been done…

…so far 😉
