Dear all,

@maxsaf @DanD93 @Boxerfan@Blackhawk ctc @Jeepinwithgeorgie @Bela @ajsjl @matt the sign @Wildjeeper62

Please could everyone let me know how many people will be in their jeep?
Marquenterre have requested final numbers so they have the correct croissants, coffee and orange juice for us on arrival.

There has also been a request from the Parque that we start the day 30 minutes later. I will update the timings. Apologies for the change.

Looking forward to an absolutely awesome trip with you all.

Mrs V (Lou)

Evening, checking if we need to be at the park by 9-45 now please?

If the weather was the same as the south of the UK then you had a great day for the trip.  Pictures, pictures, pictures please 😃

Hazel and me had a great time at Marquenterre and we want to say a Big "Merci Beaucoup" to Louise and to Brad for their time and commitment to get this event perfectly organised.

I only took a couple of videos and very few pics from my phone but Hazel took lots of pics from her camera which we will download this evening so I will add them very soon.

Here is Lou in action in two steep hills. She made it look easy but I can tell you that some places were not.

I couldn't put both videos in the same post so here is the 2nd one.

I can imagine Jim smilling with pride from up there watching Lou driving his Jeep so easily on this site.

Great driving Lou, especially after everyone else had a go digging the sand deeper for you.

Ah, thanks.  Very dedicated having your own team merch, only the best for us Jeepers.  Hopefully if we meet on or off road some time I will have remembered to wear my JeepTrek 23 t-shirt, as organised by @V

I thought (and indeed was hoping) there was a new and massive supplier of Jeep parts in the UK I had not stumbled across before, where I could source everything I would ever need 😂. I know, I can be terribly optimistic at times.

Echoes of Valor: A Journey through Marquenterre

Upon the green fields of Marquenterre we ride,
In iron steeds, traversing the riverside.
In this tranquil park, a challenge for our Jeeps,
Awake and alive, while history silently sleeps.

Fields of poppies blooming, in vibrant red they sway,
Echoes of the fallen, in our hearts will stay.
Bunkers, stern and silent, casting shadows long,
Silent sentinels of a past where right met wrong.

Wheels churn, engines roar, beneath a sky so free,
Through a land once gripped by cruel tyranny.
The ghosts of soldiers linger, in poppy field and dune,
Their valor whispering in the pale light of the moon.

A century has passed, yet their echoes remain,
The price of our freedom, was their untold pain.
Riding through the remnants, of a world at war,
Gratitude overwhelming, for the peace they bore.

Now we find joy where once was only fear,
The scars of history, both distant and near.
How blessed we are, to freely roam this land,
Where heroes fell, in the shifting sand.

Gone, but not forgotten, the brave souls who fought,
For the world we cherish, the freedom they bought.
Thank you, soldiers, for your selfless sacrifice,
In our hearts, your memory shall forever suffice.

We ride under the sky, through the dunes so grand,
Upon the soil once stained by a war-torn hand.
Yet beauty thrives where sorrow once did dwell,
In gratitude and memory, we promise to tell.

In our hearts and minds, their legacy remains,
In every poppy's bloom, in every freedom's gains.
Through Marquenterre's fields, in history's soft light,
Thank you, soldiers, for making our world right.

Here are pictures taken by Hazel during the day on site.

I particularly like the last one of our guide Mr Rene who was friendly and cheeky but still a very professional guide.

PS: Don't take any notice of the date and time at the bottom of each picture please. Lol

Brilliant video Bela, looks like you all had a lot of fun.

Be interested to hear what the particular challenges were of dribving in ghe sand versus, say, lots of mud.
