Saying hi and a question

Hi,
Just bought my first Jeep, a 2001 Wrangler TJ. I'm in the UK. It has a hard top. Can anyone advise me where to go (preferably in  the UK to keep delivery costs down) for a good new / quality used Soft top for full steel doors? I'm looking for a Spice Denim soft top, ideally with clear windows (but I'd consider tinted windows). Thanks

Hi, try jeepey for a softop? They wont be used - the only other place for used would be on here or ebay etc

I would double check versus Quadratec in the US.  My new soft top was several hundred pounds cheaper even after shipping and taxes than the Jeepey price.  You may also find good deals on new ones on Amazon or EBay with global shipping.

totally agree, always import stuff like that yourself, it is far cheaper, and very easy.

Thanks UKTJ. I've had a  look at Quadratec. The only TJ full hood and frame is from Rampage and gets very poor reviews. But I'll keep looking in case I've missed anything.

I can second that, the Trek Top is a lot cheaper than a full soft top and just as weatherproof. I have a Bestop one for my JKU. It is a different look though so it depends on personal preference.

Not sure where you are looking, but I see 22 full soft tops in Spice on Quadratec.  Admittedly I only see black denim, so not sure if it is Spice denim that is the constraint.  That said I will be amazed if there is somebody making a TJ soft top in the UK specific to our market, so there are unlikely to be many options available here that are not for sale via Quadratec or Morris 4x4.  Not sure if the link will hold the search filters I used, but if it does here is what I saw, though you will need to click on many of the choices and then choose Spice as the preferred colour...

https://www.quadratec.com/categories/jeep-soft-tops/complete-soft-top-kits/?f[0]=sm_general_color%3Aterm%3A40%3A5619

All the best with the search.

Spice seems to be the constraint, as you say. Many thanks for the link

Hi,

Sorry for jumping in, I have a TJ and the top looks old and tired now.  I was having a look at these, but the pricing over the pond seems so much much better. Any advice on where to buy, or who to buy through. to try and decrease the delivery / import charges?

Cheers

Appreciate all the replies here. After searching US sites I've gone with David Round at Llama4x4 in the UK. He was really helpful and can import a Spice-coloured soft top (Trektop, as recommended here) at a competitive price. Plenty of black tops available in US, but Spice suits green Sahara. Will let you know what it's like.
Thanks Jeep OC

I don't believe Extreme Terrain ship to the UK, or at least it wasn't an option when I last looked at their site.  But www.quadratec.com and www.morris4x4.com do.  But from above it sounds like Llama 4x4 is a good place to try.

There is the other option with quadratec- you can get them to road freight your order to a forwarding company, like Ron @Stsimports, and then pick he will ship it over. It can work out a lot cheaper?

https://www.stsimports.co.uk/containers/

I have used him a few times and can thoroughly recommend him.

That is useful, I've never tried that idea, they always just Fedex stuff over direct when I order from them. I might try that next time. 👍

Must add- I never ended up going this route with quadratec but they had offered and were going to- but i changed my mind and went a different route. I still have to get some items and am still pondering how i do it.

I did use Ron for my bumpers, rockers, roll cage etc from Poisonpsyder before they blocked the UK from their website....

I think that is a helpful recommendation.  Not just cost, but there are so many small Jeep specialists in the US that don’t ship to the UK or the shipping costs are sky high.  Worth knowing, thanks.
