UKTJ
Fantastic day - even the weather Gods were smiling as it wasn't until the last of us headed for the exit that the sleet started to fall. It was great to get to take the Jeep offroad, but equally great to get to chat to so many great folk. I'm afraid I can't add to the super haul of pictures shared, but I would like to thank a few people. Obviously @Volant165 and the whole JOC team for giving their time to organise such a brilliant day. Your efforts really are appreciated. Terry and everyone that provided the morning instruction to the less experienced offroad drivers. @Mike WK2 for his help with my apparently very poorly ground CB - I'll be trying to sort that today. @Black_box_jeep for the vocal encouragement at the climb I wasn't sure I wanted to try - it took four goes, but I made it. To everyone I bugged with questions about, wheels, tyres, disconnects and many other subjects. @spookie the aardvarkfor the timely warning that somebody was about to 'send it' through the big puddle I was pulled up next to with my window open. And a special thanks to @Cameron for being both my chaperone and the little devil on my shoulder telling me to go for it - how many times did I hear "I think it's doable" 5

Some lovely Jeeps and some super XJs too! Some of the nicest and cleanest XJs I’d seen in a while. Rekindled a bit of a lust for one.

Platinum Member Black_box_jeep Posted April 3, 2022 Platinum Member Share Posted April 3, 2022 As always a great day out at Slindon with JOC. Thanks to all the team at JOC and John at Slindon Safari, the time and effort involved really is appreciated. Haven’t seen it so dry before. Great to see a good variety of Jeeps and a great crowd of people making the most of it in the sun. @uktj “pretty sure you won’t die” seems to be all the encouragement you needed! Didn’t get many pics as too busy chatting, driving and being dragged about to say hello to everyone by the puppy, but some great pics and videos in here.

Thanks for that great off-road tuition. I am sure it was very informatiove and helpful for the all first timers. I tried to record everybody as much as possible but as you know Slindon is a very biiiiigggg site. Sorry if I missed any one of you I'd like to say though, it was hard to capture @spookie the aardvark since he was flying. Maybe he was trying not to stuck this time We call that hooligan behaviour

As a club the JOC always try to provide 4x4 tuition from our more experienced members or qualified instructors like Terry. We fill the gap that the dealers and Jeep leave once you drive off the forecourt. Driving a Jeep through its natural habitat to experience its amazing capabilities is really why the brand is amongst the strongest, and meeting up with our great club members just adds to that. Thanks for making it and yes, often the drive in to the site is pretty testing and that's just to get there!
Platinum Member MGomes Posted April 4, 2022 Platinum Member Share Posted April 4, 2022 Just a few quick ones - I leave all of the "great social media stuff" to experts like @Raakhee (as much as I am using pics from @Caroline12 as well) - perks of going in a group, safety and you get lovely pics taken! Must find time this week to work on the GoPro footage As always - laughter, fun and plenty of food - @spookie the aardvark has been our resident chef for a few outings now
Platinum Member Raakhee Posted April 4, 2022 Platinum Member Share Posted April 4, 2022 (edited) It's been too long since the last event. However, fabulous turn out to an amazing day. Thanks to the well organised JOC team, @neal, @Volant165, @Chrisby, @Jules. I personally rescued one of the newbies who was lost and on their way out. Glad they made into the site. Slindon is one of my favourite sites. Something for everyone here. Thanks to John Morgan who let's us play here as well. Good to catch up with old friends and meeting new ones. Nothing better than Jeeping, mud and bacon . Just to share a few photos of our shenanigans. At the end of the day the boys had encouraged our hooliganism and @Caroline12 and I ended the day splashing though a mud puddle. It was great fun driving @MGomes Rubicon through the articulation pits, at least I didn't get it stuck in the mud like Caroline did GH010040_2.mp4 GH010040_1.mp4 Edited April 4, 2022 by Raakhee ...
