Sorted a starting problem and (hopefully) solved a rain leak.

Had the xj back since late Thursday.  Rained all day Friday, found a small puddle on drivers floor.

Found the door seal hanging down and today used some double sided tape which kept it in place nicely - will hose check tomorrow.

Then it wouldn’t start.  And it didn’t start at first when I picked it up on Thursday- it had been running a lot whilst checking the tensioner set up and we had stupidly let it run out of fuel.  Something I always advise others never to do!

we put a gallon in and all seemed ok after but of a “will she won’t she.”

Drove home no issue - but today - dead as a dodo.

So - charged up battery and explored the fuel filter as it has a pump in it.   Unscrewed the plunger and pumped away until fuel seemed to be in evidence at the bottom of the plunger shaft.  Screwed in back in - and up she fired.

Well pleased.

if wont start in the morning then I know we have an air-leak and the fuel is draining back.
