Is this a good idea?

We all try to promote our club , when we can I believe. When I'm out and about I sometimes see gr8 Jeeps parked up but no owner can be seen. I saw a modded XJ today, for example. parked in an industrial estate  Could be an enthusiastic member, if he knew about us, if we could communicate.

Here's the idea!

Could the club produce a simple card , like a fun business card maybe, a picture , bit of info etc perhaps a space where a phone no. could be put if wanted. this could be stuck under a wiper, whatever, to try and generate a contact?  😄

Digger.

There is a thing in America called Ducking Jeeps or Duck Duck Jeeps, not sure if anyone has heard of it. only found out about it by accident - try googleing it. What they do is tie a type a calling card to a small toy duck (please dont use live ones as people complain when they poo on the Jeeps😄) and leave it on the Jeep they like. Thought that was one American/Canadian custom I wouldnt mind seeing over here 😇😜

I must admit I used to do that way back in the day for the old Jeep Owners Association. The guy who ran it (who’s name I forget now) printed off a load of “With Comps” slips just had a logo and a phone number back then, and I used to stuff them under the wiper blades of any CJ I could find.

A friend, a few years ago, had a conversion specialist garage and had plastic cards made- we then had a pile of them each in our cars etc that when we came across the make of car they were slid into the side window at an angle between the slider rubbers.

Very cool and easy way of gaining new customers.

Sure we can. I guess for convenience something small like a business card would be best. Given easy access with the web and social media we could put three easy links on one side of how to join, and some sort of pic on front. Let me see what can be produced, and then hand them out at our coming events for members to take away?

The missus and I bought two dozen ducks, put a Jeep Grill on them with a sharpie along with an attached card ala the US. The reactions were great!

Put onpause in November with ensuing lockdowns.....

That's it, glad some one else has heard of it too. Great bit of harmless fun, and then the ducked Jeep owner has to duck someone else 😜😄

👍 Exactly the same idea I saw on line, maybe the same sort of thing could be done with club calling cards attached? Hopefully inform new possible members and make them smile at the same time 👍😆

Or even have the ducks have JOC printed on them.....rather than a sharpie......:-)

Well, what a response. I'm pleased to hear so many gr8 ideas, some of which have been used and they worked!  Ducking Jeeps! 😃

Did the cards ever make it to fruition?

I'm on a  USA Wrangler forum and the ducking thing there is most definitely very popular! 🦆

I got ducked all the way from the US. Its a Wonderwoman duck.

I think its a great idea to have some official Jeep Owner's Club cards

Love the sound of this. Trouble is it all comes down to cost.
I was going to suggest that we have some sort of JOC identifiable flyer but this would be breaking so so so many laws.
So in the USA, who provides these?

I think it’s a personal thing, plus with a few local clubs doing it to expand their membership. Don’t think it’s anything more organised than that
