Platinum Member Whitebeard Posted June 22, 2020 Platinum Member Share Posted June 22, 2020 I bought my 2017 SRT in February and it was booked in for warranty work (carbon fibre trim replacement) just before lockdown. Had a phone call this morning to say that the dealer - Pentagon of Doncaster - were closing permanently on 30th June and they would try and arrange for the work to be done at Pentagon Barnsley who had previously been Jeep dealers. Apparently Pentagon Group have completely ended their relationship with the FCA group. I will now have to find another official Jeep dealer that I can trust or go back to the independent Jeep specialist that I have used for the last few years. A dilemma as I bought a 3 year Pentagon Group extended warranty who may not now have access to software updates, etc.
Platinum Member Hotwheels Posted June 22, 2020 Platinum Member Share Posted June 22, 2020 Good luck our dealer in Dumfries closed last year and now we have to travel over 100 miles in any direction to get to a franchised dealer
Fireman Iain
That could explain the slapdash work Pentagon Doncaster have just done on my WK2. It was taken in for a warranty job on the shifter module, which they have sorted. I asked them to service it at the same time. The mechanics job sheet was a work of fiction. A line of ticks to say they’d done each job, however when I started checking, several of the jobs had not been carried out. I didnt quite throw the keyfob and jobsheet back at the back at the service desk fella, but he certainly got a fair bollocking. You might have had a lucky escape. Yours being that is a Pentagon Group warranty you will need to work through them. On a positive note it appears that their Barnsley store will still provide aftersales/service support through an ongoing FCA relationship. Platinum Member Whitebeard Posted June 26, 2020 Author Platinum Member Share Posted June 26, 2020 Hi Jim, Thanks for the information. On a separate issue I had emailed Jeep customer services about updating my satnav and received a phone call from Italy yesterday and they advised me to contact Pentagon Barnsley. I have since checked and my original Jeep warranty started on 30 March 2017 and as I understand it the free map updates are only available during the 3 year warranty period although I seem to remember that there may have been an extension to allow for the lock down period. I am just trying to find the email to check if my ancient memory is correct!
