Platinum Member Rory Posted December 17, 2019 Platinum Member Share Posted December 17, 2019 I was up at Glentarkie and managed to take off the top end of the driver's side sway bar link....this part: jeep wrangler TJ (1999) #52087 771AB 2 LINK, Sway Eliminator Does anyone know if can simply can a new bolt and thread it in from the top? The thread within the link seems to be okay. M8 bolts are too small and M10 bolts are too big though.
Platinum Member Arno Posted December 17, 2019 Platinum Member Share Posted December 17, 2019 I had a swaybar link that broke on my TJ - passenger side, I simply replaced it with disconnects, that was almost 10yrs ago.. No problems since
Platinum Member Rory Posted December 18, 2019 Author Platinum Member Share Posted December 18, 2019 Sorry, I'm being dim! It's disconnects that are on there at the moment, and its the top section of the disconnect that i've taken off.....the bit that attaches to the sway bar itself. Looking for a replacement of just that part, rather than the whole disconnect. Looks like it should just be a bolt and a bushing?
Platinum Member Arno Posted December 18, 2019 Platinum Member Share Posted December 18, 2019 Difficult to tell. Do you have a picture ?
Platinum Member Rory Posted December 30, 2019 Author Platinum Member Share Posted December 30, 2019 Just in case this is helpful to anyone in the future, the top bolt for the swaybar disconnect link is a 3/8 UNC x 1 1/
