JKU Overheating

Still having some overheating issues with the JKU particularly in this hot weather. Have tried hosing the rad from the front which made a slight improvement but Today was time to have the grill and air intake off and give it a more thourough clean out. Flushed quite a lot of crap out, probably a good 30 minutes before it stopped coming, so hopefully will be less liable to overheat now. Will find out on the next motorway run.

For some reason I don’t seem to be able to upload the incredibly interesting photos that I took of this process so I will leave it to your imagination, suffice to say it was not quite as straightforward as I thought: spotlights off the bumper hoop, grill off, radiator cover off , air filter box off and try an poke a hose pipe in the back of the rad. There are actually three radiators ( I assume the engine cooler, transmission cooler and air con ) which makes getting in there a bit of a pain. Nowhere near as easy as on the CJ........but then again most things are easier on the CJ.

pic of the back of the CJ radiator.......which I didn’t need to clean out but which does upload ?

Well, fingers crossed, a good clean out has done the trick ☺️ a drive down to London to see Paul Smon in Hyde Park last night, air con on and nothing over 107, running much cooler than before so hopefully should be all good for upcoming trip to Cornwall.

Hi Tim,

Can you tell us what device you are uploading from so we can look into this?

Hi Stewart, it's an iPad but the pic was taken on an iPhone, I think. Although the picture displays fine on the ipad I think it's something funny with the particular image file, I didn't do anything different to what I usually do when taking or uploading pics and they usually work fine. I can try transferring to PC and uploading from Windows just to see if that makes a difference.

Cheers

Just tried it, transferred the file into Windows, looks like a regular JPEG and views OK. Tried to upload to this thread, says it's uploading, when it gets to the end of the progress bar comes up with the (helpful) message "there was a problem processing the uploaded file -200"

I wouldn't worry about it too much Stewart, it's probably the file, all my others seem to be OK.

Cheers

Tim
