:grrrrrr:

My MoT on my '93 ran out yesterday and my parts haven't arrived yet. I have rebooked my test for the 22nd May but new rules are active then. I have just found out that it is likely to fail on a weeping main bearing oil seal. I have ordered a new oil pan gasket and main bearing seal tonight. I probably need to do the speedo gear 'O'-ring and valve cover gasket. Oil leaks have kept her rust free for years.

Thanks Vince not sure it's that well thought out piece of EU legislation

The oil leak has to be a visible drip at the time, a weeping seal will be fine. It defines a certain flow rate as a failure.

Do they time the frequency of the drips or just need to observe one drip? If I wipe off and degrease my sump I might be OK if it doesn't drip during the test.

It can’t be long as the test is still short. The new mot is on line on .gov if I remember correctly
