Ok guys, I'm looking to start on my Hemi. Looking to add my own touch and a class of performance. It currently has a powerflow Stainless steel exhaust, K&N air filter and the Hemi engine. Loud and pretty damn good as is. But what else can I do to get the power up? It's not an off road jeep as such as I'm a town owner. Any suggestions, recommendations and advic will be considered. I don't know where to start or even to look.

Many thanks in advance!

How much do you want to spend?

Headers, cams, supercharger, tuner etc etc

Simplest mod to get things going would be a diablosport tuner but be aware you might have to change the PCM to a USDM spec one to get it to communicate. This will give you ability to change shift points, fuelling, disable MDS, rev limiter, speed limiter ext plus allow you to tune to support future mods. Superchips do a version as well but be aware that they have been known to brick the PCM, including mine!

Thanks for getting back to me. Cost isn't really an issue, I just don't know where to start, or look for such things. I've thought about supercharger, might be a stupid question here but all I see are charger/300c kits. I'd like to assume it's the same as the jeep but held back to be safe. (We all know what assuming does  :icon_e_biggrin: )

It's getting the stuff in the right order, knowing where to look and making sure it is the right parts for the jeep. Also wanting/needing to know the likely issues I'll run into with stock components when modifying, I've read something about the bottom end giving up at a certain stage, just theorising what can be done, what will need to be modified to suit and how to get the best out the lump without switching to a 6.1 or something

Ok cool, well I would start by getting a tuner. Unless you can get one talking to your EUDM spec PCM / ECU, then subsequent mods will be quite tricky. I couldn't find anyone in the UK to touch mine without the hardware first as we have Motorola ECU's, not the more common Bosch ones used on earlier models & the diesels

The supercharger kit is kinda generic for the engine, not the car. It might just be worth a look around on the US forums to see what people are using to see which ones are an easier fit as position of ancillaries will vary between models.

I've personally not heard of bottom end issues. Most common problem is gearbox with people that fit the SRT engine or top end going if the valve seats fail (especially on PFL models). If you intend on doing the valve seats, you may as well fit a mild cam & uprate springs etc whilst in there. Let me know if you find someone in the UK willing to do it as I have a collection of parts this end I need to get my teeth into at some point

Got a meeting with a guy who deals in US cars, he's just finished rebuilding a 2006 ram and says he knows a bit about the Hemi power plants. Will see what he says too. Slight tangent but I've noticed you have a GC "star tech" and I'm curious. My GC has Startech 20" alloys but I'm missing 1 centre cap. It's driving me mad and I can't seem to find a replacement :( any ideas?

Yep, I have the full kit but also bought a full spare set of alloys so I could have a matching spare. I don't really want to separate the caps but might if you get really stuck. Failing that you can buy an alloy off me lol. I will pm you the details of an English speaking rep at startech so you can get a price as they still stock most things. Just be warned though that the prices are quite crazy. Last week I paid £108 including delivery for 1x LED for my side skirts

Keep me posted if you have any joy with a specialist as really want to work on my lump at some point
