No Patrick they haven't got a site in English. Chambon is a village located within the dead volcanoes in Auvergne about 40km / 25 miles south of the city of Clermont Ferrand.

The Club is called Jeepaoc, they have a website but it is being revamped so there is not much on it but you can find pictures and videos of the events of previous years either on their Facebook Page or on YouTube.

Let me know if you want some help with translation. For info there are around 400 Jeeps going there every year.

Yes Paul,

I had the rear Diff rebuilt last month but now my passenger side rear axle is leaking oil so I am waiting for parts to arrive and I will replace the Bearing, retainer and seal myself. I already replaced both side last November but it was either a bad seal or the guys who did the Diff rebuilt damaged the seal when re-fitting the axles. Either way I didn't bother to call them I will bite the bullet and replace it once again.

So yes we'll be going there with the JK (if all is good) but I won't be mad like I used to the first year because Spinning the rear wheels on tarmac with 37" tyres helped greatly to destroy the rear Diff.

What an event!- 527 vehicles.

JeepAOC never fail to put on a brilliant time. No question about it- will be back when ever it is on. Only wish i k=had known about this event a lot sooner as i would have gone to them all.

Great people, Great selections of jeeps- old and new, unmodified to extreme. Great prizes given away at the raffle, Great food, mind you you are stuffed if you don't like meet and cheese!

Will get some pics up when Ive got them uploaded - maybe even a video or too if i can get around to editing it.

I agree with Paul, it was good to see you and Steve over there.  :great:

Chambon 2017 was a great vintage. Despite that the weather turned to the snow on Wednesday and Thursday things got better when the event started on Friday, then really nice over the weekend, apart from Sunday night when it rained heavily but that's the mountains for you. I was told by a local lady that their weather can change of 20 degrees C in just one day !

I didn't take many pictures, so I just put a few. Also got 4 short videos but I can't upload them as they are mp4.
