this one - http://www.quadratec.com/products/12052_012X_PG.htm

It looks like Tactik is a Quadratec own brand.  I would have liked the 10th Anniversary Rubicon bumper.  It just wasn't cost effective enough with the exchange rate.  So I got this.  without the overrider hoop it kind of looks like the the Rubi bumper.  Plus I managed to get $130 knocked off their list price.....

Fitting this friday, so expect full right up over the weekend.

now taken out the box and fitted....

to be honest easier than I thought.  The hardest bit was getting the old one off.

Only downside, the fixings for the overrider hoop were missing. fixings cobbled together from old bumper bolts and two gaskets cut from the removed when pieces, originally covering the front fog lights.

The front now looks a hell of a lot better. I might even run it time time with the end caps removed.

My only real issue is the gap between the bumper and the grille, and not having anywhere to re-clip the wiring harness.

Great alternative to the 10a bumper.  Wait until the first deep puddle, you won't be able to see a thing, the gap between bumper and arch/ wing  is covered on the UK version for a reason!  My US bumpers are almost dangerous in the wet!

Looks great Fenton, good job!

I'm assuming you didn't get a new rear bumper too?

At the moment no.  Could be on the cards though.  I got away with this purchase as some hit the corner of the original and managed to gouge a hole in it.

I do like US spec JKs with the number plate mounted under the rear lights.

Try the double sided sticky pads. They can be actually very adhesive. Saves drilling/screws. :great:

Front and rear plates on the CJ are both fixed with double sided sticky, has worked fine for years....

too late now.

drilled and screwed the plate.

I've no intention of fitting a winch, so may as well cover this front area up

No intention Tim.

Fitting a winch means getting involved in electrics. I've only re-mastered using spanners.

But as they say form over function.

Just a quick question, did the recovery hooks come with the bumper. Good job by the way and looks great.

Simon,

The recovery hooks do not come with the bumper.  Purchased separately, but at the same time.

I was after red OEM ones, but ended up with Crown Automotive as the OEM were $149 each
