I have a 1980 CJ7 (winter project to stop me getting fat and lazy). It's running a 2.5l with what looks like a SR4 tranny, in my mind this has to go. I've not been able to find much help on this so open to sugestions, Making an adaptor plate to go between an engine and gearbox.

The plan is a rover V8 and an AX15, I have aquired some bits that I think will work but would like to know if anyone has done something similar in the past. the bits I have are V8, AX15, V8 auto bellhousing and 10x10x1 inch ally block. The ally is to go between the bellhousing and the AX15. I'll add some pictures so you get an idea. I should mention that the bellhousing on the AX15 comes off.

Thanks guys, this could be the cheapest conversion plate at £5 or it could end in tears.
