could you leave that on the rack? or would it get damp?

 

it must need a big storage area?

 

cool set up though, ive been thinking about this for my XJ, but I don't have anywhere to keep it when its not on the car

It stays on all the time, bolts on to the roof rack. I have taken it off once since I've had it, left the jeep in Stanstead while I was in Sicily for a week, but its a bugger to lift back on without a few people. Hasn't made a noticeable difference to fuel consumption

I use it at least 2 nights each week, 4 nights last week. The cover seals with a heavy zip and PVC flap.

If I do pack it away wet I try and air it out a bit when its dry. The bedding (2 down duvets and pillows) folds into it.

 

The awning can come off in about 5 minutes.

 

Did you fab out the roof rack or purchase it from somewhere, I'm after one

 

I got the roof rack, awning and awning tent from direct 4x4.  I rang them and got a 10% discount from the web price. Pre drilled holes for the spot lights. the roof tent is from Armadillo 4x4.
