always good to see another black jeep with extreme ugly kid glass.....

One word of advice, the black paint is a little soft and susceptible to showing branch scratches....  I'd recommend getting some of the magnetic door panels.  Being in Canada, you'll be able to get trailskinz delivered for next to nothing.  How you get them back to the UK though....

Hmmm.... If I had my way I'd need a bank loan and an ISO container! lol

I have been looking into Trailskinz. I have also seen a protective film you can get, however I'm not sure what that would look like after a year?

Parts wise I may have to Internet shop as Alberta is a sparse state with hours of driving In between towns!

They aren't scratches, they are unique Jeep tattoos [emoji1360].  Mine has many...

Well finally back from 3 months working in Canada to meet my Jeep in the flesh!

......So I decided to give it a treat and fitted a Banks power monster stainless steel exhaust, throttle body spacer and a K&N filter (panel, as I'm not sure if I'm going to fit a snorkel yet?).

Generally very happy, however, there is a plastic panel missing near the gas pedal, and the small wiring loom underneath is there, but no nuts holding the P-clips to the body panel?? The wife obviously never noticed this on collection

...and the carpet was poorly fitted in the front.

Will have to see if I can get the panel from a dealer when I return to the UK for the Road Runner Show?

Personally I thought they would have picked it up on the PDI?

Anyhow.. No regrets! [emoji846]

Oh.. And got my first Jeep Wave today of a local German driving a black 2 door JK! [emoji6]

Luke,

The same panel is missing on mine.  I just took it as read this was normal.

Strangely, my missus pointed it out.

Maybe I'm just fussy about attention to detail? lol

I have noticed a couple of small scratches on it, but I didn't cry like a girl like with my previous BMW's and Jaguar's! [emoji23]

Don't look at the paint too closely....

I took mine to a friend to get it valeted.  On it's return, his comments were:

- He'd never seen a paint finish like - Orange peel.

- He'd never worked on vehicle with such bad panel gaps.

Not sure what he said when he lifted the bonnet.  All I know they weren't favourable

What he mean is "unique"

should there be a panel there??

Can anyone else confirm whether there should be a trim panel in the drivers side footwell.

not sure about unique....

I have been asked whether it was bought as part of mid-life crisis (first asked by someone who chose as his company an f-type V8 AWD).

I tell them it is perfectly practical family car, if you don't mention the fuel economy....

Yeah, I almost ordered a red V6 F-Type!

However, a friend of mine ordered it a few days before I was about to order, then I saw the light! Two F-Types in a small car park or an F-Type over shadowed by a big Jeep? [emoji15]

Easy answer! [emoji23]

I didn't actually realise I could order the Jeep from a UK dealer, so that was a nice surprise, even better that I could get the V6!

Just remember...it's smiles per gallon, not miles per gallon!! [emoji1]

I too would be interested to know if the panel is supposed to be there?

Regards all!

Seems this panel is a common 'missing' item.....

I've given up on the MPG (mine is diesel).  For better fuel economy I'll use my Cupra and be astounded at how many miles i can get out of a tank of fuel.

As for the smiles per gallon, i had to drive around one night last week as the good wife wanted to experience 32 degree heat with the roof off..  Such a hard life.. :icon_e_biggrin: :glasses:

can you post a pic of the offending area? where the panel looks to be missing.

Andy,

pics of the where the 'missing' panel should go.

I've added passenger footwell as a comparison.

Comparing both, there shouldn't be a panel on the driver's side due to how the door frame trim is moulded.

No panel on that side on RHD versions due to pedal configuration !
