Hi Luke,

welcome to the club.

Don't think you'll get better than month and year. You may have a plate on the dash, just below left of the steering wheel (LHD) or Below Right on RHD which shows the Vehicle number the build month and year and the recommended tyre pressures. Otherwise you need the vehicle number off the bulkhead plate, usually top RHS of the bulkhead in the engine bay ( looking at the bulkhead from the engine ) If it's RHD this may be on the LHS. I think this only gives you build year though but could be wrong. If you can get the number that'll be helpful.

Why'd you need to know the build date??

Cheers

Tim

1. If an auto try looking on a tag by the auto trans box underneath

2. Firewall under the master brake cylinder there should be another tag

3. Windscreen but I presume you already looked there

The second digit of the VIN is gives the model year, which runs September to August, so if it's a 5 it will be built between September 1974 and August 1975. So it is most likely to have been made in '75. To get an MoT done you only need an approximate date , plus the VIN and engine size. The DVLA, however will require an original copy of written confirmation of the date of manufacture from Jeep themselves, along with your MoT certificate, certificate of insurance and NOVA paperwork. If you have no papers indicating the date of first registration in the country of origin, they will use the date of manufacture provided by Jeep to issue an appropriate age related registration number.
