In a couple of days I am replacing the battery on my 2004 Grand Cherokee it has the Jeep Factory Radio/Satnav will I need a radio code after I have fitted the new battery? :zozz_newbie:

Never tried on a GC, but I left the battery of my JK disconnected for the last week and when I reconnected it yesterday it worked fine. No code needed!

Good luck!

Mike

Is this on a jk?  Is it a call to the dealer for the code?

Replaced Optima Yellow top on my  2007 JK 2.8  for the first time last year.

Only got standard radio / CD head unit

Everything rebooted when connected with programmed radio stations etc

All I had to do was reset the time

I am going to play safe by maintaining a 12 volt supply to the vehicle when I do the swap - just to be sure.

Mission accomplished without a need for the Radio Code just took care to avoid the live terminal catching the bodywork as I maintained a 12 volt supply using an old slave battery and a pair of home made leads with clips attached.
