Hi,  Anyone know of a carb'ed engine that will fit the TJ without too much trouble,  I'm fed up with paying for sensors that only last 2 years,  have replaced all mine, now they've started going again,    G force are looking into the cost of a 350 chevy engine for me,

I expect it to be horrendous but at least i'll be able to work on it.

Why????? The 4.0 is virtually bullet proof and by far the most reliable engine ever fitted to a modern Jeep. If you're having trouble with failing sensors, it's probably because you're fitting cheap replacements.

I've read so much about how the straight six 4.0 Litre engine is one of the most reliable. I certainly wouldn't change it! If your continuously having issues take it to someone else who specialises in jeeps, Greg @4play jeep is a good guy who knows his stuff and I'm sure he'll be able to make a recommendation. He's in Leicester but in the middle of a move to Grantham.  It's worth giving him a call to get his opinion, nice guy

Thanks for replies guys, I get my sensors from Jeep at Horsham,  around £120 a time,  the only one I haven't replaced is the crank sensor,  some have been replaced twice,  now it's overfueling again, plugs are black, ordered another tps from Jeep,  I live on the south coast so Grantham isn't on,    i'll probably run it into Jeep in the new year.

                                                                                                                                          thanks.

When replacing my lamba sensors I use RockAuto and buy the best NKG , all in price that includes shipping for around £85.00 for upstream and downstream.

Are the lamba sensors the one in the downpipe and the one in the cat, both of these were purchased from Jeep 3 months ago,  not saying they can't be buggered but after 3 months!
