Rattle in 'D'

Guest

Recommended Posts

Well I've now done 7500 miles in my lovely 2015 JK & apart from a faulty electric window switch the Jeep has been a joy...except for reasons best known to my Firecracker it's developed a rather annoying rattle whilst idling in 'D', the noise is a bit of mystery & can only be described as a 'rattle', coming from the engine/transmission area which, as soon as as 'N' is engaged disappears, the noise also stops as soon as I move from standing.

The fault is obviously covered under warranty but has anyone had the same or similar experience?

Hi Graham,

read about that in one forum, give this a try: below the gear shift bezel and boot, there is a cable that contacts the body of the Wrangler. I know that in LHD the cable is located on the left side of the gear shift and runs towards the firewall. If you remove that and isolate the cable the rattle should stop.

At least worth a try!

Cheers,

Hugo
