Had a week off so i Thought I'd get a quick service done on my TJ this week,

Got a phone call from the garage saying the front brake pads are low, which i did already know,

So feeling lazy i agreed to them changing the pads,

Popped out in the Jeep yesterday and yes the left caliper seized,

so had to carefully limp home,

So today ordered the new calipers and rotors

my punishment for being lazy I've got to use the wife's car to get to work until the parts turn up and i can fix the Jeep.

I thought while I'm doing the Calipers i may as well give the front brakes an overhaul,

So Changed the lot.

I had similar issues, and after numerous fixes, I decided to replace the lot

Result, much better brakes that always works now ;)

Hiya Arno,

I remember you posting that you had the same issue, which helped me to decide on replacing the lot.

George  had the samedi when he changed his pads,

Thats sort of why i titled this i should have known better, i mentioned it to the garage who did the service but they seemed to think it would be ok.

I spoke to Gregg at 4playjeep  he said it was a common problem and something to do with the ceramic pistons in the calipers,

Hi Chris,

Yes, Gregg told me about the stock calipers having issues with age, and so far the new/rebuild calipers with the steel pistons is working as it should..  I didnt go for the xchange program, as i want to keep the old calipers for spares, but still havent rebuild them, lets hope it doesnt come back a byte me ;)

Glad all is sorted for you now :)
