So now The JK is finished for a bit on the modding front , a little friend appeared ?

The aim is for my son Charlie to learn

a bit about mechanics whilst we work on it a make it how he wants it ready to be his first car.

I might get to use it also ?

Great TJ bought From a great guy (Peter) and fellow Jeep enthusiast/ Junkie just down the road from me.

We’ll start a new thread on what we do, carrying on front the extensive list of improvements and modifications already done .

Post lots of pics Chris - if it turns out like yours, which I am sure it will, should be really good! Have fun and I’m glad it’s gone to a good home!

That Jeep green and black is so iconic. Been watching this build from the side lines for a long time, and look forward to seeing it in the flesh at a JOC event sometime soon. Great that it is used as a family camp set up, which is exactly what I have in mind for extended family camp trips for kids off the beaten track before weaning them onto wild camping. Have you got the draws sorted yet?

Thanks Paolo , I have a set of drawers in it now. Not sure if I’ll keep them too long though. Think I’ll have a custom set made and get a drop fridge slide and slide out table incorporated and use all the space in the rear I can in storage. We use a fabrication firm at work who I’m sure can knock up what I’m after fingers crossed ?

Been a while since I did much to the Jeep other than MOT it and replace all the ball joins with new Teraflex adjustable and guessable ones at the start of the year .
Jeeps pretty much not moved since March when I did a weekend in Wales with a friend.

So whilst it’s crazy hot and I’m in the UK thought I’d start to get on top of the 12v system . I’d previously had a second Optima D31a battery with a smart pass feed from the starter battery and a small inverter to keep the ARB fridge going but really fancied a decent 12v system to run other things. After a lot of thinking about it, I decided that I’d go for a nice and neat option of having a “Solar Generator “ smart system and 3 flexible solar panels. Old smart pass now feed the unit via the 12v input when driving and the solar ( which will be fitted on the roof tent )also tops up at the same time. When parked I unfold the two extra panels to really keep things topped up.
The battery has various outlets from its inbuilt inverter including 240v AC which has a 2000w limit. ARB runs from its 12v outlet and in total I have 2080 WH capacity.

All neat and tidy in one unit which I’m very please with so far. Also the battery is portable so you can take it anywhere to use , currently it’s running my ARB on our deck to ensure i stay hydrated and don’t have to send the wife to keep getting me a beer 😂

very easy way inter power in your Jeep as there are many sizes of these type of systems out there .

Takes about 2/3 hours to fully charge from a 240 socket at home and the display lets you see how long the battery will last given and load from connected items .
