If you are coming down and wish to use the off road site on the Saturday we have been to we can use the Site @ £20 per car , the site has 2 courses , 1 of the courses involves driving along the edge of the lake for a period IN THE LAKE  :gasp: !!! and the second course being more of a green lane drive around the lakes and river, from experience I know that this is a brilliant and testing course with bypasses around all obstacles for the less experienced of ambitious , do come along and enjoy , some camping , off roading and The AACI Spring Nationals  :great: :great: :great: :great: :great:

This is Not!!! the course we were taken to when we attended the 2013 Militaria show , this site is much better

For those thinking of coming these weekends tend to be relaxed affairs with little set in stone .

Roughly , Friday nights are arrivals , meet and catch up with members , set camp, settle in , the AACI has a live band ( normally very good entertainment and JOC members are welcome into the hospitality tent if they wish.

Saturday people tend to start arriving from 10 am onwards and establish where we will be parking in the arena etc , The club should have established an area which will be marked with JOC banners etc , members just join us as and when they arrive , the arena slowly fills up and people spend the day taking in the show , drinking , eating and taking in the show the arena is surrounded with stalls with food , refreshments , memorabilia and auto jumble stalls plus trade and club stands ( loads to see ) plus you have the Aquadrome attractions as well swimming pool , fun fair , miniature railway , lakes etc .

For those who book we will head off to Billing 4x4 Saturday morning for some off road fun, excellent courses all levels catered for as all obstacles have bypasses,  anyone camping on a 3 day pass gets free re admission to the Aquadrome on return, returning later in the day via the jet wash situated just up the road at the local service stn .

Alternatively stay in the arena at the club stand ,  Saturday evening we have previously gathered and socialised around a barbecue for a while talking jeep or  whatever comes up  :gasp: before bedding down for the night.

Sunday a very relaxed day people havin breakfast and  breaking down camp etc make our way into the show arena and spend the day in the Jeep stand/ parking area , the arena begins to fill up from around 10 am those not camping are asked to arrive around 9.30 - 10 am so we can get all parked and organised ,

The prize giving for various categories of vehicle is usually around 3 pm on both days ( A Jeep has taken a trophy at the last spring Nats ) .

People tend to then beginning to drift away depending on journey times and commitments etc .

If you fancy coming down please get your name down asap , only limited numbers of 4x4 day tickets available so please add your name and confirm attendance asap  :great: :great: :great: :great: :great: :great: :great:.

barbecue dependant on the weather and the availability of a suspended fire pit.

Never mind a muddy good weekend ,,, this should be a bl"$%dy good weekend  :gasp:

If you have not booked your tickets for camping yet , if when you contact the aquadrome you tell them that you are showing in the AACI arena with Jeep owners club and use the code ALABAMA  you should get a discount and a weekend pass. :great: :great: :great: :great: :great:

there is a premiere inn very close by for those not so hardy souls. ( like me  :icon_clown:).  http://www.premierinn.com/en/hotel/NORPLI/northampton-gt-billing/a45

Sounds great :) Please make sure I'm on the list for the 4x4 site (can't see my name there).

Any idea what time you'll head off on that trip Saturday morning? (I'll be driving up to stoke-on-trent from Exmouth on the friday and may not make friday night's camp, I'll have to play it by ear.)

Hello all,

I have just joined this group and am a part of the Lakenheath off-road club. My daughters and I would very much like to attend this event. If we are allowed to join it would most likely be all day Saturday and camp the night, (pending I can find my tent) then staying most of the day Sunday.

Thanks for the welcoming. So yes put us down for the course on Saturday. Now would I need to pay before hand or do I pay while I am there to enter the course? I will call soon and book the camping based upon the tread that stated code ALABAMA.  Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hi Jeff and welcome to JOC  :wav2

Not wishing to hijack this thread ... however  :glasses: ... I notice you have a 2014 V6 Rubicon X.

Is this an import?

Some pics would be good - if you don't mind.

Cheers

Hello to you as well and I have no problem sharing info on my jeep. It is imported from the states. However its not be taxed by the U.K. so is not sellable to a UK citizen until that is done.  Once I find out what I need to do for that I plan on putting it up for sale though.

Thanks for the great pics Jeff :great:

Billet Sliver with the special hood (bonnet) and bumpers. Very nice.

That last "hole" looks a bit daunting ... did you get out on your own?

Cheers

Umm Unsure about that one , sorry , thinking possibly that unless someone rocks up with a suspended fire pit or something we could be struggling a little , unless everyone camping can bring some kind of portable maybe and something to cook on it ,, been a little short on offers of help of anykind
